Vice President - Technology
Abhilash is competent and experienced program manager, with over 7 year's experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams of varying sizes and complex programs of work w.r.t. Banking, Insurance and Finance Domain. He has the ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders and to turn proposals into reality. Especially successful in management roles that demand rigor, a high level of drive and dedication and a focus on delivering business outcomes through the use of methodologies. Prior to joining DMI, Abhilash spent more than 3 years in the HCL Technology. In HCL he was involve in all stages of the project lifecycle to date from the Business Case presentation through to post implementation and support. Abhilash holds an EPGCITM from IIM-K, M.Tech and M.Sc degree in computer science as well as he is certified in many technologies.
Mr. Nayyar has over ten years of investment and advisory experience focused on India and has been involved with close to $10 billion of transaction value. He is previously the founder partner of IndEU Capital, an international private equity firm investing in cross-border initiatives between India and Europe. He is also previously the India founding partner for Bryan, Garnier & Co, a leading European investment bank. Prior to this he practiced as a lawyer in India and UK and founded the global India practice at Ashurst which is one of the worlds largest law firms. Mr. Nayyar educated and worked in the UK, US and India. He has a BA Phi Beta Kappa from Reed College and a JD from Northwestern, both in the US.
Associate - Legal
Astha is responsible for managing corporate legal affairs. She holds post-graduation degree in Law from Indian Law Institute, New Delhi with 6.5 years of experience in corporate legal affairs in power, real estate and infrastructure sector. She has a post graduate Diploma in International Trade Law. She started her career with Dhir & Dhir Associates in corporate litigation division. Before joining DMI, she was associated with A2Z Maintenance & Engineering Services Limited and SAMHI Hotels and has also worked with Legal Ally as Principal Associate.
Vice President - Admin
Fahim Ahmed is a Post Graduate in Organizational Psychology from Jamia Millia Islamia with 9years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking and Finance. He has a Post-Graduate Diploma degree in Industrial Relation and Personnel Management from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan and an Executive Programe in Applied Finance degree from IIM Calcutta. Prior to joining DMI, he was working with Bryan Garnier & Co as a General Manager.
Associate - Operations
Mohit Gupta has joined DMI in Jan,2013 as Associate - Operations. He is an experienced accountant and financial professional. Prior to joining DMI, he has worked with Module One India Ltd (A Paharpur Group Company), as Senior Executive accounts. He also worked with Bulls & Bears Portfolios Ltd., Cushman & Wakefield and more organisations, He is a graduate from Delhi University and CA Inter by qualification. His philosophy of life is world is full of knowledge just we need to explore it from sources around us.
Associate Vice President – Corporate Credit
Namrata is a Chartered Accountant and holds Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi.. Prior to joining DMI’s corporate credit division in October 2013, Namrata spent a year with BMR Advisors’ mergers and acquisitions vertical providing corporate restructuring and regulatory advisory services to leading conglomerates. Post completion of Chartered Accountancy in 2010, Namrata joined corporate finance division of a CA firm where she gained experience in fund raising and mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Nikhil began his career with Braff& Co., in New York in 1987. He moved to India with Citibank in 1988 and has been in Mumbai ever since. He moved to Bank of America in 1989 to start and head the Cash Management business in India. The business grew from zero to a thruput value of over Rs. 7500 crores in the four years that he ran the business. The business also included share issues and refunds. In 1992, he wanted to get experience on the “other side” and joined and engineering company, Flat Products Equipments (I) Ltd. (FPE), as Executive Director and CEO. Among other responsibilities he was responsible for the listing of the company in 1994 on the BSE, at a premium. During his tenure of six years at FPE, the company sales grew over six times and its valuation grew over seven times. The company was sold to CMI in 2008 and is now known as CMI-FPE. In 1998, he left FPE to start his own financial services business and has been running Mirage Partners LLP since then. He has ben involved in transactions related to debt, equity and structured finance in the renewable energy, healthcare, retail and distribution, real estate, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors. During this time, from 1998 – 2000, he was also on the advisory board of Bank of Punjab and was responsible for assisting the Bank in setting up Cash Management and a complete portfolio of retail loan products. Mr. Katariya graduated from Boston College’s Graduate School of Management in 1987. He lives in Mumbai with his family.
Vice President – Business Development
Nipun is responsible for Business Development activities in DMI. He has over 9 years of experience in Private Equity, Investment Banking, Valuation and Consulting and has worked on transactions valued at over $150 million. Before joining DMI, Nipun was the India Head at Essel Finance under Investment Banking- Real Estate Practice where he was responsible for sourcing and executing funding transactions pan India and was successful in raising over $95 mn during his tenure. Prior to this, Nipun was the North region Head at Knight Frank, under Capital Transactions division. He has also worked with Alissa Group, a Middle East based Private Equity fund, DTZ India and Genpact (former GE company). He holds a B.Com. from Rajasthan University, India and an M.B.A in Finance from the ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad.
Assistant Manager - Finance
Poonam joined DMI in February, 2014 as an Assistant Manager in Finance, responsible for financial statements, returns and co-ordinating for auditing. By profession Poonam is a Chartered Accountant with three years of post-qualification experience. She is graduated from Janki Devi Memorial College and have completed certificate course on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). She is also pursuing Degree course on Information System Audit from ICAI. Prior to DMI she was a Senior Associate at DHC Consultants (Haribhakti & Co.), a leading consulting firm; there she was working under Audit & Assurance Division. Her major assignments were with PSUs, Listed Companies and Banks.
Vice President - Corporate Credit
Puneet is a rank holder Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University. of Delhi. Based in Delhi, Puneet focuses on DMIs credit investments across sectors. Prior to joining DMI in 2013, Puneet spent two years in the Mergers & Acquisitions Practice at BMR Advisors where he was responsible for providing transaction advisory services to large corporate clients. Puneet completed his CA in 2009 and thereafter joined Johnson & Johnson as a Management Trainee. Earlier, in 2007, he started his professional career at Ernst & Young in Risk Advisory Services where he worked for three years as part of CA internship. At Ernst & Young, he was part of Industrial and Consumer Group and was exposed to various multinational clients.
Vice President - Finance
Ruchi is responsible for managing the accounts and audit of DMI.. She looks after the statutory compliances of the company and acts as DMIs liaison to the regulators. Prior to joining DMI Ruchi was a Senior Manager at ABL Financial Services and a Senior Accounts Officer with the Adarsh Group, a leading real estate group in Bangalore. Ruchi is a qualified Chartered Accountant with five years of experience.
Chief Technology Officer
Saurabh Nigam is Chief Technology Officer of DMI Finance Pvt Ltd. As CTO, Mr. Nigam oversees all of DMI’s IT Operation and leads DMI’s efforts to deliver high-quality IT solutions to in rich system capabilities of the organization. Mr. Nigam has spent 16 years in IT functions of the financial services sector. Prior to joining DMI in June 2015, He served as the Director IT of CRISIL Limited, where he was an owner and leader to provide complete IT Platform/Solution for their Research Business. Mr. Nigam has been named amongst the Top 100 Future CIO of India in 2013 by IT NEXT magazine. Earlier, Mr. Nigam was the Head of Application Development at Computer Age Management Services Pvt. Ltd, where he was responsible for evaluating and developing new application and maintaining them for the organization. Apart from that, he spent 10+ years with Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd and Scandent Solution Pvt Ltd as an IT consultant. Mr. Nigam has a Master Degree in Engineering and Business Administration from Indian Institute of Science (I.I.Sc), Bangalore.
Co-founder and Joint Managing Director
Mr. Chatterjee began his career with BlackRock Financial Management in New York in 1995.. Following a brief stint as an Analyst at BlackRock he moved to Salomon Brothers Incorporated in March 1996 where he was a junior trader on the storied Mortgage Trading desk at Salomon. Over the following six years Salomon Brothers became Salomon Smith Barney, which, in turn, became Citigroup Global Markets Inc. Over this same period Mr. Chatterjee became a specialized market maker in various mortgage derivatives products. During his tenure managing the derivatives business Salomon Smith Barney was nominated the #1 Mortgage Derivatives Trading House by Institutional Investor magazine. He was promoted to Managing Director by Citigroup in 2002. In 2003 Mr. Chatterjee took over the management of the prime residential mortgage trading business at Citigroup and subsequently became co-head of all securitized products trading in North America, a business comprising almost 30 frontline traders and several tens of billions of dollars in assets. Mr. Chatterjee served as Citigroups representative on the Executive Committee for Securitized Products of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) which is the governing industry body for all Fixed Income securities in the USA. He left Citigroup in 2008 to start DMI with Mr. Singh. Mr. Chatterjee graduated from Harvard University in 1995 with a B.A Magna Cum Laude in Applied Mathematics. He is very active in the Harvard Alumni Association including acting as Co-Chair of Associate Giving for the Harvard College Fund. His other interests include recreational running and he completed the New York City Marathon in 2000. Mr. Chatterjee lives in New York with his family and commutes monthly between New York and New Delhi.
Sr. Vice President - Corporate Credit
Vivek is a Chartered Accountant and CFA with seven years of experience in banking and advisory services with a special focus on real estate advisory. Prior to joining DMI, Vivek spent three years in the Transaction Real Estate Advisory Group at Ernst & Young. In this capacity he was responsible for structuring Public Private Partnerships and advising clients on the feasibility of real estate projects. Vivek started his professional career at Tally Solutions before joining ICICI Bank, first as a Credit Manager in its Home Loan Division and subsequently as a consultant in its Real Estate Advisory practice Vivek has an EGMP from IIM - Bangalore.
Yuvraj C. Singh
Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director
Mr. Singh brings nearly two decades of experience in finance to his role, with an expertise in fixed income structuring, trading and risk management. He began his career in the risk management department at the Commodities Corporation, a leading trading firm (now a division of Goldman Sachs). In 1995, he moved to Wall Street, trading mortgage-backed securities at Lehman Brothers and eventually running the firm’s mortgage derivatives desk. In 2000, he took on a new challenge and followed his entrepreneurial passion, becoming partner at Compro Technologies, a small software development firm in India. His mandate was to build the fixed-income risk management and analytics vertical at the company. Today, Compro is an award-winning software consultancy, with bases in the US, UK, and India. Mr. Singh returned to Wall Street in 2002, joining Bear Stearns as a Director in their mortgage business. His area of focus was structuring and trading derivative products in mortgages, including Interest-only and Principal-only strips and Agency fixed-rate CMOs. In 2003, Mr. Singh moved on to Citigroup, where a long personal friendship with Mr. Chatterjee became a professional relationship as well. He was promoted to Managing Director three years later. He served as Citigroup’s representative on the Agency Committee, Securitized Products of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA), which is the governing body for all Fixed Income securities in the USA. It was at Citigroup that Mr. Singh and Mr. Chatterjee first conceived of creating a platform for building a fixed-income business in India. In 2008, he left Citigroup, returning to India to do just that, co-founding DMI. Mr. Singh is a graduate from Princeton University’s class of 1994, with a B.A in Economics. He lives in New Delhi with his family.
